Costume Appearance
Long-sleeved, form-fitting Celtic style black dress with golden silk highlights and light-green accents. Green underskirt with gold trim that reaches just above mid-thigh in the front and back, splitting into two ankle-length tails in the back. Black, knee-length, layered outer skirt, parting in the front, decorated with gold trim and Celtic knotwork, serves to conceal equipment belt with small pouches and hooks for various small gadgets, such as pepper spray and various noise-making devices. Gold lacework runs up the bodice, transitioning to a gold-embroidered backless-style choker strap. Either shoulder bears a gold-painted single-piece pauldron.
The outfit comes with detachable golden "Wings" for photoshoots or events, designed to catch the light of the sun and appear to glow, as well as an intricately decorated black and green masquerade-style full-face mask, also gold embossed, black-leather boots with gold-painted details, and thigh-high black stockings. For colder weather, the stockings are replaced with full pants, and the upper body covered in a forest-green hooded cloak with a celtic Tree of Life clasp, and the mask swapped out for one without wings (to allow usage of the hood). Often carries a small black purse for extra gear/items. Ava occasionally pours on the Irish accent while in-costume.
Civilian Appearance
Ava has wavy, shoulder-length, light-brown hair, green eyes, a thin nose, and a band of freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks, though she can look like a redhead in certain lighting. She is 5'8" tall, with a thin frame, small chest, and broad shoulders. Her favorite color is green, and she can often be seen in a green dress or blouse decorated with celtic knotwork. She almost never wears makeup or jewelry, though will occasionally wear beaded hair combs decorated with fake emeralds or rubies.
Mentality
Ava grew up in a catholic home, and identifies strongly with many traditional Christian beliefs. She's socially awkward and anxious, which makes her a starving extrovert, as she relies on time with close friends to stabilize and recharge. Despite this, she still has several introverted tendancies, and often spends entire days wrapped up in an art project, especially cosplay. She has a much easier time being assertive and authoritative while wearing the mask. She's proud of her celtic heritage, and is frequently drawn to Irish mythologies, hence the costume and cape name being related to Irish faerie folklore. She tends to be rather withdrawn until you get to know her, but will talk for hours about this interest or that if she knows you. She has adhd, diagnosed when she was a kid, and a hint of ocd, never officially diagnosed. She's driven by empathy and a constant need to help others around her; not uncommon for a hero.

Parahuman Power
Ava can create a spherical field around herself with a number of effects. For any living creature within the field except herself, light, sound, and physical sensation are intensified to the point of being painful and/or debilitating. This works by affecting the sensory processing centers in the brain, meaning senses boosted or altered by parahuman powers are affected, but senses granted entirely by those powers are not. Additionally, while within the field, Ava gains full freedom of movement in 3D space, allowing her to accelerate and decelerate rapidly, though not instantaneously, as well as ignore gravity. Her maximum acceleration is roughly between 15-25m/s². Her maximum deceleration is significantly higher, at around 50m/s². While within the field, Ava is also highly durable and extremely resistant to all kinetic effects, including blunt force, limited sharp force, and temperature fluctuations. She is able to plow through relatively thin walls, and can take a bullet with nothing but bruises to cracked bones depending on the caliber. Her durability also affects her max speed, causing her to top out just below the speed of sound before it no longer effectively protects her from air resistance. Ava's durability does not protect her from non-kinetic attacks such as electricity, gasses, or acids.
Establishing the field requires a charge time of roughly 1 meter radius per second beyond initial size, which is just big enough to encompass Ava. Charging can be interrupted if Ava is distracted, rendered unconscious, or chooses not to finalize the effect. While charging, the field does not yet exist. For one second upon first establishing a field, Ava is aware of every object, person, or creature within, but has no extra capacity for this awareness. This means that larger fields encompassing more objects will overwhelm her. Beyond this, the size of her field is not limited, and can be expanded as far as clear distance and time allow. However, the field is spherical, so any objects or creatures originally hidden from view may be included in the effect, making larger fields riskier to establish, especially close to or on the ground or buildings. All things passing in or out of the field keep their momentum as normal, including Ava.
Ava's field is stationary when created, and only one may be up or charging at a time. After five minutes of a single field being up, Ava will slowly begin to feel the sensory effects it imparts on others, regardless of whether or not she's within, increasing in severity for every minute past five. If the field remains for one whole hour, Ava will be rendered unconscious, and the field will collapse. The field otherwise does not collapse, even if Ava is disabled, until dismissed or one hour passes. If collapsed in this way, Ava will be unable to charge another field for between one and three hours, after which point charge time on the field is doubled for another hour. If a field has been up for more than five minutes, but less than an hour, the next field may be used immediately, but will charge slightly slower for every minute.
Background & Trigger
Ava is a gamer and an artist. She's an extrovert, technically, but is extremely socially awkward. She doesn't have many friends; just a few online people from games she played. She was feeling a bit drowned under the stress of school, and her graphic design job just wasn't as fulfilling as it used to be. One of her online friends invited her to a meet up irl at a concert nearby. She was a little nervous, but agreed. When they met up, the crowd was already huge. Music was blasting, people were dancing, and the mosh pit was... well it was a mosh pit.
She found her friend by the shirt he was wearing, which matched his character from the game where they'd met. He lead her up towards the front, saying he'd gotten VIP passes, since he wanted her to have a really good time. She appreciated that.
The music had just started really going when some drunk dudes started a fight in the audience. It quickly grew violent, and security stepped in to intervene. One of the drunkards got ahold of a gun and fired it in the air, panicking the crowd. A stampede quickly formed, and the music stopped as people scrambled to escape the venue. Ava was shoved on the back, hard, losing her grip on her friend and falling on her face. Pain shot through her ankle as someone stepped on it. She was alone in a press of bodies, unable to even hear herself scream as people trampled over and around her. The noise was deafening. She couldn't move, couldn't speak, could barely breathe. The pressure increased, making her feel like she was stuck in a pressure cooker as she had a panic attack. With the press of bodies, the deafening noise, and the feeling of being trapped and helpless, Ava triggered.
